- SCIENTIX LESSON PLAN Building the Wolf’s House
- Activities that includes science, engineering, math, and language arts. Aim of the lesson Students will be challenged to become engineers to design, build, and test a strong house for Bad wolf. Students must decide which materials will work best to build a strong house that can stay standing. Work as a team to decide on the materials best suited to build the house.
- Age of students 4-6 Time Preparation time: 10 min Teaching time: 50-60 min
- Teaching material Offline: 1 copy of “3 little pigs” published by Livanis Co. 1 road wood base 1 piece of paper and pencil for each student Balance and measure Glow, sticks Different materials of plastic, wood and paper that we need for the challenge.
- 21st century skills The lesson plan is focus in collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking, flexibility. Lesson Plan The children work in 3 small teams (2-3) must build a house for the Wolf with different materials. Each team will participate in different stages of construction.
- Name of activity Procedure Time
- 1st Task The design of wolf’s house
- 2nd Task The measurement and the balance of materials.
- 3rd Task The compare of different materials used for the house designs
- 4th Task The build of house
- 5th Task The test how strong it is. Assessment For assessment we ask the students “Which material was strong enough to stay standing the House”, “Will the house be strong enough to protect the Bad wolf”
- Student feedback Encourage the students to ask questions and make observations, Ask the students “ Why do you think these materials were more effective than others”?
